Professor Liyin Shen had been a professor in the Department of Building and Real Estate at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University before he joined Chongqing University of China in 2012. Over the years, he has produced over 400 research publications, with the total citations of 15,844 (by 2020.11). He is the Founding President of the Chinese Research Institute of Construction Management (CRIOCM) and the Founding Editor-in-Chief for the International Journal of Construction Management (IJCM). Professor Shen holds a number of external appointments as Honorary Professor and Visiting Professor. Professor Shen has been highly successful in securing competitive research grants both locally and internationally. He is the winner of the Major Programs of the National Social Science Fund of China (2017-2020). Using the concepts of “carrier” and “load” from engineering physics, Professor Shen and his team engaged with an innovative to evaluate the carrying capacity of urban resources. In this seminar, he is going to share with us his research findings and experiences in applying and implementing the Major Programs of The National Social Science Fund of China.
